There has been no shortage of drama within the world of hip-hop’s most recent reigning celebrity couple Cardi B and Offset.
More cheating accusations are dogging the Migos star, amid their latest breakup and subsequent war of words on social media
Much of which went down as the rapper was celebrating his 32nd birthday on Thursday with a bevy of beauties in Miami.
But things seemed to reach a level unacceptable to Set when some fans started using his late partner in rhyme, Takeoff’s name ‘in the middle of all this’ drama.
As a result, Offset took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday and addressed the people who were mentioning Takeoff’s name amid news of his marital issues with Cardi B.
‘Fan wishing death on takeoff is crazy yal lil a** better chill,’ the Lawrenceville
Georgia native first wrote in a reference to his Migos sideman who was gunned down and killed in Houston, Texas in November 2022.
Less than two hours later, and still grieving the loss of Takeoff (born Kirsnick Khari Ball) just over a year later, the father of five clarified his words.
‘Correction: Fans using Takeoff’s name in the middle of all this isn’t cool, he tweeted over the weekend, before adding, ‘I’m still grieving my brother, and would like for his name to not be brought up.’
Quavo (born Quavious Keyate Marshall), who was Takeoff’s uncle along with being a fellow Migos member, appeared to agree with Offset’s message when he took to the conversation on X.
‘Nephew ain’t wit the soap opera LONG LIVE Rocket [rocket ship emoji] [prayer hands emoji] pray for y’all tho [Eleven infinity emojis],’ Quav wrote in his missive, which can be viewed below.
Quavo then posted another message with an image of Takeoff and the words, ‘Us vs Them, along with a rocket ship emoji, which is what his close family and friends called him.
Although Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus) didn’t elaborate on what he meant when he wrote ‘in the middle of all this isn’t cool,’ many fans have speculated that he’s referring to his breakup with Cardi B.
Around the time Set was partying it up at the clubs for his birthday in Miami, Cardi took Instagram Live and blasted her estranged husband.
‘A muthaf**ka will play in your f**king face over and over and over and over again,’ Cardi said. ‘This n***a really like to play games with me when I’m at my most vulnerable time. When I’m not the most confident. He like to play games with me because he knows I’m not an easy girl.’
She continued: ‘Yesterday, I could have been out. I could have been chilling. I could have been this and that. He knows I’m in my house. He knows that I’m chilling. He knows I’m not doing the most, and I really been sparing you. I really been sparing you.’
The Bodak Yellow rapper proceeded to get more personal about her estranged husband, all while seeming to reference his cheating outside the marriage.
‘I’ve been sparing you, b**ch a** ni**a. Your b**ch a** album is s**t,” she publicly ranted to Offset. “F**king doing me dirty after so many years that I helped your motherf**king a**. Not even a f**king thank you.’
The video was released after she tweeted, ‘Offset, “you a b**ch a** n***a and trust me imma f*****g take it there.’
Takeoff (born Kirsnick Khari Ball), who was the youngest member of their hip hop group Migos, was just 28 when he was ginned down in the early morning hours of November 1, 2022.
The Georgia native was shot multiple times when he was hanging out amongst a group of people who gathered outside a billiards and bowling alley following a private party, according to Houston’s KHOU-11 TV.
Investigators believe a heated argument broke out following a dice game, although Houston Police Chief Troy Finner doesn’t think the rapper was part of the game or argument, and that he was likely ‘at the wrong place at the wrong time.’
Patrick Clark was arrested a month later and charged with the murder.
Two other people, 24-year-old Joshua ‘Wash’ Washington (a business associate of Quavo) and a 23-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting.
Cardi and Offset have had an on-off relationship since they first started dating in 2017.

One of their separations happened in 2018, about five months after they welcomed daughter Kulture, now five, to the world.
Cardi confirmed Offset had cheated on her in December 2019, though the couple seemed to be going strong into 2020,
