And if we’re being totally real, the same goes for our favorite celebrities — especially since we can’t exactly call them up any time we want to ask “What did you mean by that Insta comment!?!”

Fans are definitely reading into one of Justin Bieber’s recent Instagram posts, in which he regrammed a photo of himself as Pikachu from a fan account dedicated to shipping the singer with Ariana. (Note: Justin didn’t mention where he got the photo from, but the fan account’s watermark is clearly on the image.) And now, the #JelenaWillNeverRiseParty hashtag has started trending on Twitter, in which Jarianator fans rooting for Justin and Ariana are going head to head with Jelena shippers pointing out that Selena is out and Ari is in.

But the plot thickens even more as Ariana also posted a similar photo of herself as the yellow Pokémon. Though it’s heartwarming to think about the friendship between the two singers as something more depending on which side you’re on, concluding the two are dating solely based on these pics is a stretch. Maybe they both just really love Pokémon? Justin’s mom also wished Selena a happy birthday, which also had fans thinking something was up, so it’s all relative. At the end of the day, you’re free to ship whoever you want, just make sure to always distinguish fact from fiction — it’s safer to assume it’s not real until the two people officially say they’re officially together!
