Taylor Swift is already getting a warm welcome from everyone in Scotland ahead of her upcoming shows in Edinburgh this weekend, and most recently, the “Fortnight” songstress received a special greeting from the Scottish Gas Murrayfield venue, where her Eras Tour concerts will take place on June 7, 8 and 9.
The performance put on by the Reel Time Pipe Band, which was shared to TikTok by local Edinburgh outlet Forth1News, featured a special cover of Swift’s “Love Story” in a way it’s never been heard before.
The group of musicians played a very Scottish version of the smash hit, while Swifties even joined in to dance along with the bagpipe tune.
“Why am I in tears,” one fan wrote in the comments on the TikTok post, while another person said, “that’s amazing, gotta love a good Scottish welcome.”
Someone else suggested, “These bagpipers need to have their own set to open for Taylor.”
“She really is taking over the uk,” read another comment about the “Anti-Hero” singer, who was already formally welcomed by Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney, who said in a statement on Wednesday, June 5 that he is “thrilled” for Swift to be bringing the Eras Tour to Edinburgh.
Plus, Swinney was also ecstatic about the recent renaming of Loch Tay, which has been renamed “Loch Tay Tay” in honor of the singer coming to town.
“I really hope she has the chance to go and see Loch Tay, or should I say, Loch Tay Tay, because it is the most beautiful part of Scotland,” Swinney said in his statement, adding, “She’ll get a really warm welcome here and I know all of the Swifties will be exhilarated by her presence in Scotland.”
Swift will play three shows in Edinburgh this coming weekend before heading to Liverpool next week.
