One of the most surprising moments from this week’s MTV VMA Awards was Justin Bieber crying live on stage. And now we’ve found out the reason behind the tears.
A source has revealed that the singer wasn’t expecting anyone to cheer for him. “He didn’t know how people would accept him. When he saw them on their feet cheering, he was overwhelmed,” an insider revealed. “Last time he was on an award show he was booed. This time he was cheered for. It meant a lot to him.”
“He worked so hard not just on the performance but himself,” they added.
The star took to Twitter shortly after his performance to thank his fans.
The outburst follows last year when Justin was the subject of much criticism following the fall-out from his break-up with Selena Gomez, a deposition in court and attacks on the paparazzi.
